THE WE HEAL HOLISTICALLY STORY
ROSIE DOCANTO, RYT-200
Rosie is a yoga practitioner and a graduate of the 4 Corners Yoga + Wellness 200-hour trauma-informed yoga teacher training. She’s deeply grateful to be part of this healing tribe. She’s extremely passionate about holistic health and wellness for everyone. As a lifelong learner, she has also trained in yin and restorative yoga teaching and continues to study adaptive yoga and other styles. She is honored to teach yoga and meditation in the Boston area right in the community she grew up in.
Rosie’s classes focus on Hatha, slow vinyasa, restorative and yin yoga. Her teaching style emphasizes the importance of mindfulness, presence, breath, flow, and stillness. Rosie aims to guide students to their inner landscape and their divine teacher within, and to make yoga more accessible for everyone, especially marginalized, oppressed and underserved communities. She hopes to shift the minds of the black and brown community on who can practice yoga. Rosie’s compassionate guidance supports students as they observe, feel, connect and notice what arises for them during their practice.
“Yoga is more than just a physical practice of asana,” she says. “It’s a practice of self-awareness and self-acceptance. Yoga has opened up limitless doors for me to heal in ways that I have never experienced before. This practice has guided me to a higher consciousness of self-love and a deep appreciation for community and humanity.” She believes when we begin to heal, our community heals because each of us has something valuable to offer.
When off the mat, she works a full-time job as a Community, School and Family Coordinator at an early childhood center. In her spare time, she studies herbalism and grows and makes herbal medicine. She enjoys working out, traveling, being outdoors, gardening and soaking up knowledge from yoga, spiritual and wellness gurus.
